Kingsville is the seat of Kleberg County, Texas. The city was established in 1904 by Henrietta King, who donated land for the original townsite, now located within the heart of the King Ranch, which remains one of the largest family-owned ranches in the world. She also contributed land for Catholic, Baptist and Episcopal churches, and for what is now known as Texas A&M Kingsville. Its economy depends mostly on agriculture.
