Paris, Texas, is the county seat of Lamar County. It was first settled in 1824 and was incorporated by the Republic of Texas Congress in 1845. Although the movie "Paris, Texas" is about this city, it was simply mentioned in the movie, not set there, and no filming was done in Paris.
