The Texas city of Schertz is in Bexar, Comal, and Guadalupe Counties. Settled in 1843, it was a jackpot for corn, oats, and wheat. In 1988, Osama bin Laden's half-brother was killed in a light plane crash in Schertz in what was described as a freak accident.
