The City of Rhinelander is the seat of Oneida County, Wisconsin, and home to the Hodag, a mythical creature that serves as a mascot for the city and two of its schools. Crystal Lake Scout Reservation, a Boy Scout camp operated by the Samoset Council of the Boy Scouts of America, is located on Crystal Lake, just north of the city.
