Established in 1962, Southeast Christian Church is a mega-church in Louisville, Kentucky.

The Church began as a typical church plant, originally in the Hikes Point area. However, when Robert Russell took over the church four years later, it expanded rapidly. By 1998, the church had outgrown several buildings and had moved to the massive campus on Blankenbaker Parkway in Louisville, where it remains. It soon became one of the largest congregations in the United States.

Pastor Russell retired in 2006 after forty years of service, and was succeeded by Pastor Dave Stone, a longtime preaching assistant at Southeast Christian.

In 2007, Southeast Christian began construction on a campus in Jeffersonville, Indiana, which was completed in 2009. That same year, the Church opened a youth campus. In 2012, construction began on a campus in southwestern Jefferson County, adjacent to the southwest campus of the Christian Academy of Louisville, which opened in 2014.

The Church offers a large variety of programs and ministries to people of all age groups, special programs for blended families, individuals who are deaf or disabled, and Spanish-language programs.

Southeast Christian Church is an elder-led church, in which elders provide oversight, vision, and guidance in the direction of the church. Its team of pastors provides leadership for the paid staff.

Theologically, Southeast Christian Church holds to traditional evangelical beliefs, including a triune God, existing in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The Father is the creator of all things, visible and invisible.

Jesus Christ was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. On earth, He was fully human and fully divine. He lived a sinless life, suffered and was crucified as an atonement for sin. He rose from the dead on the third day, ascended into heaven, and will one day return to rule forever.

The Holy Spirit convicts us of sin. The Holy Spirit indwells every Christian, helping us in weakness, interceding for us in prayer, and empowering us to a fruitful Christian life.

The Bible is the inspired Word of God, and the final authority for all matters of faith, truth, morality, and Christian living.

The Church holds that God established marriage in the beginning to be a lifelong, exclusive relationship between one man and one woman, and that sexual intimacy is reserved for a committed married relationship, and that any expression of sexuality outside of Biblical marriage is sin.

Mankind, although created by God, willfully sinned against God and is without hope apart from the saving grace of Jesus Christ. Salvation is only possible by grace through the blood of Jesus. Salvation is received by faith in Christ, repentance of sin, and confession of Christ. The Bible commands every believer to be baptized by immersion.

The Church of Jesus Christ, as founded on the Day of Pentecost, consisted of all Christians everywhere, who were later organized into local assemblies called churches.

Every Christian should be a member of a local church. The elders are the rightful overseers of the affairs of the church, as well as the final interpretive authority of the Bible's meaning and application for the church.
