Within its first year, the church expanded to two Sunday services. By 2009, it had launched a second campus in Ann Arbor. In 2016, Outreach Magazine listed 2/42 among the fastest-growing churches in the United States, noting an attendance of 5,933 and identifying its affiliation with Independent Christian Churches.

Jesus is viewed as the eternal Son of God, incarnate by the Holy Spirit, virgin-born, sinless, crucified, risen on the third day, ascended, and returning as Lord. The Holy Spirit indwells every believer, giving life and guidance, empowering holy living, and equipping with gifts for building up God's kingdom. 2/42 holds that all people are made by God, yet alienated by sin and unable to restore themselves apart from God's mercy. The 66 books of the Bible are seen as divinely inspired, complete, reliable, and authoritative for faith and conduct. Reconciliation with God comes by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, expressed in belief, repentance, confession, and Christian baptism. Believers receive forgiveness, the Holy Spirit, and eternal life.

Each location has a Campus Pastor who leads local execution within the church-wide framework. This model was chosen to support shared teaching, unified discipleship pathways, and coordinated ministries across sites while preserving relational leadership at each campus.
