On March 19, 1955, Walter Bruce Willis, better known as Bruce Willis, was born in Germany to a father who was an American soldier and a German mother. In 1957, his father was discharged from the military, the family moved to Carneys Point, New Jersey, where he grew up. He stuttered as a child but found that acting helped him to speak without stuttering. He moved from New York City to California and found himself in television roles. He has been married twice and has five daughters.
