Saint Peter hosts several annual events, including the Nicollet County Fair, Oktoberfest, Winterfest, the Polar Bear Plunge, Ambassadors' Blues, the Rock Bend Folk Festival, and several holiday events.

Gustavus Adolphus College also hosts art events, athletic events, and community events, which are open to the public. Additionally, there are public and private sporting and other events sponsored by local public and private K-12 schools, as well as community sports and recreational events for Saint Peter youth and adults.
