This is a guide to attractions and events in the Chisago County city of Taylors Falls, Minnesota.
Situated on the Dalles of the Saint Croix River, many of the recreational and relaxation opportunities in Taylors Falls take advantage of the river or of its forested bluffs and high cliffs.
Wild Mountain, north of downtown Taylors Falls, features twenty-six ski hills on more than a hundred acres of land and is usually the first ski resort to open in Minnesota each year. During the warmer months, Wild Mountain has a water park and operates a boat touring operation known as Taylors Falls Scenic Boat Tours. For those who would rather be on their own on the river, there are canoe and kayak rentals in Taylors Falls, as well.
In addition, rock climbing is a popular recreational activity.
Taylors Falls has a section of the country's first interstate park. The Minnesota Interstate Park includes a quarter mile of the Angle Rock and a half mile of the Picnic Area Loop trails, which are also accessible to the disabled. It is across the river from the Wisconsin Interstate Park, which is much larger. A little further north, along Saint Croix Trail, is Heritage Park.
The Saint Croix River is designated as a National Wild and Scenic Riverway, and includes several trails that can be used for hiking or biking in the summer months, or for snowshoeing or cross-country skiing in the winter. The river itself offers fishing, canoeing, kayaking, and paddle boating opportunities.
Among the topics that are appropriate for this category are art galleries, theaters or theater groups, libraries, museums, and historical places, such as the Folsom House, a restored 1850s home that now serves as a museum. Websites representing other entertainment venues in Taylors Falls, such as golf courses or bowling alleys, are also suitable for this category.
Parks and recreational or sporting facilities, programs, or teams may also be listed here if they are in Taylors Falls. Local concerts, festivals, or other events are a good fit for this category, as well.
