Amelia, Ohio's proximity to Cincinnati's eastern suburbs, its position along Ohio State Route 125, and its growing population, even after the village was dissolved in 2019, suggest that Amelia might be a lucrative place for auto dealerships and retailers who prefer high-visibility frontage and easy access to Pierce Township, Batavia, and Withamsville.

The primary commercial spine of Amelia is Ohio State Route 125 (Ohio Pike), where most of the community's retail activity is clustered. This corridor includes strip centers, standalone shops, and service-oriented businesses that anchor the CDP's shopping identity.

The Ohio Pike retail corridor is the community's main commercial zone, containing grocery, automotive, specialty retail, and service businesses. The Amelia Village shopping area is a collection of small storefronts that have persisted since the village's dissolution in 2019. The Pierce Point area, while technically just outside the CDP boundary, has traditionally been considered part of the Amelia community and functions as its de facto shopping district.

Amelia has long been attractive to automotive businesses due to the high traffic volume along SR-125.

While Amelia does not host a supermarket within the strict CDP. boundary, chain stores, such as Kroger and Walmart, serve the Amelia community, along with some smaller convenience markets and stores along Ohio Pike. Other retail businesses include hardware stores, thrift and resale shops, pharmacies, flower and gift shops, furniture stores, pet supply stores, and sporting goods stores. These, and other retail businesses in Amelia, are appropriate resources for this part of our guide.

Amelia's retail draw comes from its high visibility along SR-125, its proximity to Eastgate's regional shopping district, and steady residential growth. Its mix of rural and suburban consumers supports diverse retail options, and lower land costs compared to Cincinnati's inner suburbs result in lower overhead.
