Commonly known as the Remnant Church, the Remnant Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is one of the Restoration branches that split off of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Community of Christ).

The denomination was formed in 2000, after several of the Restoration branches united at the Conference of Restoration Elders in May of 1999.

The denomination has its headquarters near the Temple Lot, across from the Independence Temple and headquarters of the Community of Christ.

The Remnant Church believes in the doctrine of lineal succession, which holds that key positions in the church are held by right of lineal inheritance. Frederick Niels Larson, a direct descendant of Joseph Smith, was chosen President of the High Priesthood of the denomination in 2002.

The Remnant Church considers itself to be a remnant of the Church of Christ as it was originally organized by Joseph Smith and as the one true church.

Members of the Remnant Church hold to the Inspired Version of the Bible and the Book of Mormon. The Doctrine and Covenants is also considered scriptural, sharing the same version as the Community of Christ up to Section 144, which is the last revelation from Israel A. Smith, after which it has added sections unique to the Remnant Church. The Pearl of Great Price is rejected by the Remnants, except for those parts that are excerpts from the Inspired Version of the Bible.

Most of the beliefs and practices of the Remnant Church are shared by the other Restoration branches, the Church of Christ, and the larger LDS Church.

Remnants believe in God the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. They believe that men will be punished for their own sins, and not for those of Adam. Salvation is made possible through the atonement of Christ and obedience to the laws and ordinances of the gospel. These ordinances are faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, repentance, baptism by immersion in water, and the laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost.

The Remnant Church holds that a man may be called of God by prophecy and through a laying on of hands by those who are in authority to preach the gospel and to administer the ordinances. Offices recognized by the Remnant Church include that of apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers, and evangelists.

The church believes in the gift of tongues, prophecy, revelation, visions, healing, and the interpretation of tongues.

The Bible, insofar as it has been translated correctly, and the Book of Mormon are the word of God, but there is more that God will yet reveal.

The Remnant Church believes in a literal gathering of Israel and in the restoration of the Ten Tribes, that Zion will be built on the North American continent, Christ will reign personally on earth, and the earth will be renewed and made a paradise.

Members of the Remnant Church believe in being subject to kings, presidents, rulers, and magistrates, and are committed to obeying, honoring, and sustaining the laws.

They also value honesty, truth, chastity, benevolence, virtuousness, and doing good to all men.

The Remnant Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is headquartered in Independence, Missouri.

Its leadership includes the presidency, bishopric, apostles, council of seventy, women's council, order of patriarchs, quorum of high priests, quorum of elders, quorum of priests, quorum of deacons, and quorum of teachers. The church also conducts a missionary in training program, religious education, youth groups, and media outreach.
