Elvis Presley is known for his music, like “Blue Suede Shoes” and “Jailhouse Rock”, among many early movies and shows, and provocative dance moves.  Many people think they know everything there is to know about Elvis, and his life, but I bet I know a few things they don’t know.

Did you know that Elvis Presley did not make the cut for his high school glee club?  Nope, the instructor did not think Elvis sang well enough to be a part of the choir.  He did, however, sing well enough to make him a millions of dollars throughout his singing career.

Elvis Presley received many Co-writing credits, but did you know he never wrote any of his songs?  Really, it is true.  He did not even write, or assist in writing, one single hit.  His manager, Tom Parker, would tell the song writers that Elvis wouldn’t record their music unless he got Co-writing credit, along with half the royalties for each song.  There were very few song writers, if any, who refused Elvis’ request.

Everyone knows that Elvis Presley loved Cadillacs, its common knowledge to those who adored him, but did you know that he purchased over 100 Cadillacs in his lifetime, and that he gave at least 20 of them away as gifts?  How very generous of Elvis.  The very first Cadillac he ever bought was pink, and was purchased as a gift for his mother.

Finally, most people know that Elvis Presley died of a drug overdose, but I have to wonder if they know how many drugs were actually in his system at the time of his death?  I will tell you.  According to Elvis’ autopsy, he had 10 different drugs in his system.  Ten, you ask?  Yep, it’s true.

There you have it, all the useless Elvis trivia facts you could ever want to know.  Next time you hear “I’m dancing … dancing to the jailhouse rock …” these pieces of trivia will come to mind and make you chuckle.
